Jack smiles happily for the camera shortly after we moved into our new house in 2002. He usually didn't like to pose for pictures very much, so this is a particular favorite of mine.

Shortly after Jack came to live with us, I found that he wanted to jump into bed next to me in the morning, but he would always fidget around – until one day I put my arm around him in the classic spoon position, when he settled right down. He had been waiting for me to spoon with him all the while... and thus was born the nickname "Spoonie". I think he liked spooning more than anything else, like here with his Mom on a sunny spring day.

He also liked to spoon with his big sister Moose, who he just idolized. To the far right is Mommy's right arm and Large Coney's tail.
